Patrick Mahomes will be on cloud nine after guiding the Kansas City Chiefs to a third Super Bowl triumph since he became quarterback, but the NFL star may not be entirely pleased with his team-mate Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

The pair were present at the Super Bowl parade in Kansas City on Wednesday as the Chiefs celebrated with their fans before a shooting – injuring 30 people – brought a tragic end to the event.

Footage has emerged on how Mahomes’ wife Brittany embraced Edwards-Helaire after hopping out of a van – and her reaction has caused a stir amongst Chiefs fans on social media.

In the video clip, Brittany spots the running back straight away and begins running towards him with her arms outstretched. The 29-year-old then jumps and hugs Edwards-Helaire at the same time, and the 24-year-old did little to stop her from giving him a cuddle.

Brittany and Clyde then ran off their arms spread out on either side as they goofed around together, and it made fans feel uneasy about what Mahomes would think if he saw them together on Valentine’s Day no less.

Some even speculated that Edwards-Helaire could be cut from the team if three-time Super Bowl champion witnessed what happened: “Edwards is definitely getting cut for this,” one fan wrote.

Another said: “Hell nah. With the lift, turn and carry? We gonna let this slide @PatrickMahomes?”, while others claimed Mahomes demand to see him after the parade for his behavior.

Edwards-Helaire claps back
Apparently, there was nothing sinister involved and the pair are just friends, according to the LSU graduate. He sought to clear things up on social media after the accusations were leveled at him.

“My first Time seeing Brit w/o having to go play a game all year!” he said. “Go ask my Fiancé to see her Ring since we wanna talk!”

There was no public comment from Brittany, who perhaps rightfully chose to focus on the tragic shooting that killed one person and left 30 people – including nine children – injured in the hospital.
