Christian McCaffrey thinks upcoming opponent Travis Kelce is “the coolest dude ever” and has shared why that is ahead of the Super Bowl.

With the 49ers and Chiefs poised to square off at Super Bowl 58 next weekend, the Niners running back has gone viral for his recollection of a funny story featuring the KC tight end.

McCaffrey was speaking on the ‘B Scar TV Podcast when he told a quick bit about meeting Kelce in New York.

He said:
“Fun Travis Kelce story: I was in New York, I was by myself. I had taken the train, I get off in Grand Central Train Station, I’m sitting on the corner right there. I blend in well … I’m standing on the side of the road and all of the sudden I hear, ‘C-Mac!’ I was like what the hell is that? And that’s when Travis was shooting ‘SNL.’ … So he’s in the back of a black car and rolls the window down and he’s [waving] ‘C-Mac!’ and I was like ‘Yeeeeeah!’ and that was it. Ever since then, I was like, that’s the coolest guy ever.”

The funniest thing about all of this: according to McCaffrey, they don’t know each other personally at all.

In any case, Travis and C-Mac should know each other a lot better by early Monday morning next week.
