Days of Our Lives’ Deidre Hall calls Jo Koy a ‘complete embarrassment’ after he teased Taylor Swift in his opening monologue at Golden Globe Awards

While speaking about the stand-up comedian, 52, in a new Facebook post, the Days of Our Lives veteran, 76, referred to Koy as ‘a complete embarrassment to himself and the Academy.’

‘Skip it,’ she urged her fans, many of whom flocked to the comment section to state that they found Koy’s monologue awkward with questionable jokes, including the swipe at Taylor Swift‘s new relationship with Travis Kelce.

In response to one of her followers expressing that the father-of-one was ‘so inappropriate for this job,’ Hall replied: ‘Well said.’

Speaking up: Deidre Hall slammed Jo Koy for doing a mediocre job hosting the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday evening; seen earlier this month.

Not holding back: While speaking about the stand-up comedian, 52, in a new Facebook post, the Days of Our Lives veteran, 76, referred to Koy as ‘a complete embarrassment to himself and the Academy’

The three-time Emmy nominee, best known for portraying Marlena Evans on the daytime drama Days of Our Lives for the past 45 years, is not the only star that was unimpressed with Koy’s performance.

On Monday, a source told DailyMail.com that the pop star, 34, was reportedly left unimpressed by the comedian’s quip about her love life.

During his opening monologue, Koy told the audience that ‘the big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL’ is ‘the Golden Globes fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.’

The camera then cut to a shot of a stoic Swift sipping on her drink and failing to crack a smile.

‘Taylor nor her girls found Jo Koy’s tacky jab very funny,’ an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively. ‘Clearly neither did the audience and her fans. It made her uncomfortable as it would have anyone.’

The source continued: ‘At the end of the day his entire performance was the actual joke. He should know who the audience is before coming for them. Taylor just bit her tongue.’

While Swift chose not to respond, the insider teased that her athlete boyfriend, 34, might not be so diplomatic about the moment.

‘She doesn’t have time to clap back at anyone, nor does she want to,’ the source added. ‘She cannot say the same about Travis, who might have some words on his podcast about this.’

Taylor Swift agitated with Golden Globes joke at her expense.

He told the star-studded audience: ‘The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL – on the Golden Globes fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift’

The quip immediately sparked backlash from fans who staunchly defended their idol on Twitter.

‘Cause of death for Jo Koy: That look Taylor Swift gave him as she sipped her drink,’ one joked.

Another wrote: ‘Does the fool who’s hosting the Golden Globes and just made a joke about Taylor Swift realize millions of viewers had to Google who the hell is Jo Koy!???’

Others penned: ‘Oh Jo… don’t come for Ms. Swift ! *takes sip*.’

A fourth said: ‘Agree. Uncomfortable laughter. And using Taylor Swift in a joke that stopped being funny months ago was a cheap shot.’
