Diana Taurasi Names What She ‘Loves’ About Caitlin Clark After Fever-Mercury

Diana Taurasi praises Caitlin Clark after first battle in Fever win

It’s safe to say that Diana Taurasi is impressed by what Caitlin Clark has done so far in her young WNBA career. The Phoenix Mercury vet made that abundantly clear as she heaped praise on the Indiana Fever rookie after their Sunday showdown.

Clark went off against the Mercury as she helped the Fever erase a 15-point third quarter deficit and take the 88-82 win. The Indiana rookie recorded a near triple-double, tallying 15 points, nine rebounds and 12 assists.

After the game, Taurasi had nothing but good words to say about Clark. Aside from highlighting how “amazing” and “remarkable” what the 22-year-old sharpshooter has “been able to do in her short career so far,” the 42-year-old star also shared what she loves about the youngster: her work ethic and continuous improvement.

“The one thing that I really love about her … she’s put the work in. Even throughout her short WNBA career, it’s been a lot of pressure, a lot of things thrown at her and she keeps showing up and she keeps getting better every single game. So her future is super bright,” Taurasi explained.

Caitlin Clark definitely deserves the recognition she’s getting. Amid all the high expectations on her, she has definitely delivered and lived up to the hype.

Of course things didn’t start off great for Clark, as she and the Fever needed six games to get their first win of the 2024 WNBA season. But the slow start didn’t discourage her. Now with Clark leading the way, Indiana is well poised to contend for a postseason spot.

As Taurasi said, Clark just keeps getting better. And it has greatly benefited Indiana.
