Las Vegas Aces rookie Kate Martin showed off her pregame handshake with A’ja Wilson before the team’s latest victory against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. Prior to the 88-69 victory for the Aces, Martin and Wilson were seen warming up. They revealed their pregame ritual, which ultimately blew up on X.

The two clapped each other up, then head-butted, and finished it off with a hand gesture waving their pinkie and thumb. The WNBA captioned their post with “FIN. NOGGIN. DUDEEEE,” a nod to ‘Finding Nemo’ and a saying that Martin and Wilson repeat to one another during the handshake.

Aside from showing out off the court, Wilson finished the game with 28 points and nine rebounds. Martin had 11 minutes of game action, but she wasn’t able to get on the stat sheet.

The WNBA’s post about the interaction between Martin and Wilson had eclipsed over 118,000 views a couple of hours after it surfaced on the internet.

Martin was drafted as a second-round pick in the 2024 WNBA draft class. She’s been vocal about her gratefulness toward the Aces since she thought her playing days might’ve been over after an illustrious career with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
