Patrick Mahomes has led the Kansas City Chiefs to three Super Bowl titles in five seasons. The Chiefs are building what many would consider a dynasty, so it’s easy to see how their AFC West divisional foes may become frustrated with their ongoing success.

A recent move by the Las Vegas Raiders may have gone too far, according to former NFL running back LeSean McCoy. On Thursday’s episode of “Speak” on FS1, a clip of the Raiders passing around a Kermit the Frog puppet and impersonating the Kansas City quarterback was shown. Mahomes has been teased on social media in the past, as many say his voice resembles that of the fictional Muppet character.

McCoy was outraged that Raiders rookie safety Trey Taylor went that far and questioned his future in the league. He said that as a rookie and someone new to the league, poking fun at a Super Bowl champion and NFL MVP isn’t the route he should take.

“No. 37, nobody knows who that is. He’s gonna get cut. You’re talking about the MVP? You’re talking about the real deal? Does anybody know his name, No. 37? He’s gonna get cut, though.”

This is just the latest update in this rivalry between the Raiders and Chiefs. The two AFC West foes have been chippy for years, as Patrick Mahomes has a 10-2 record against the Raiders in his career.

Chiefs safety Justin Reid takes notice of Raiders’ Kermit reference

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes hasn’t responded to the Las Vegas Raiders’ Kermit the Frog joke. His teammate, though, safety Justin Reid has taken notice of the Raiders’ video and is ready for the two matchups against the division rival this season.

Justin Reid shared a photo of himself making a tackle during a game against the Raiders, and he captioned it:

“This game is got more interesting on the calendar.”

The last time the two teams met was on Christmas Day 2023 when the Chiefs were trying to clinch a playoff spot. Las Vegas played spoiler in a 20-14 win over Kansas City, and the two teams nearly had a bench-clearing incident with the chirping on both sides. It’s safe to say this rivalry just got even more wild.
