Jada Pinkett and Will Smith’s children Jaden and Willow are said to be extremely ‘relieved’ that news of their parents’ separation is finally out of the bag – after they were dragged into the couple’s public lies by having to ‘pretend’ their mom and dad were in marital bliss for the past seven years.

Girls Trip actress Jada, 52, shocked Hollywood this week when she revealed that she and Will, 55, have been living ‘totally separate lives’ since 2016 and have no plans to divorce.

While she continues to drop bombshell revelations ahead of the release of her upcoming memoir – including admitting her shock at Will referring to her as his wife during his infamous Oscars slap last year – children Jaden, 25, and Willow, 22, are hoping this is a chance for the family to finally ‘heal’.

Lying for their parents had reportedly left the siblings ‘extremely agitated’, according to insiders who claim they felt ‘uncomfortable’ fending off a constant stream of questions about their parents’ relationship.

A source exclusively told DailyMail.com: ‘Although Jaden and Willow love their mom to no end and take on many of her behaviors and traits, they are very relieved the news is finally out there so everyone can just get on with it, no one is getting any younger.

Willow and Jaden Smith are said to be feeling 'relieved' after their mother Jada Pinkett finally confirmed she and Will Smith have been separated since 2016

Jada revealed the bombshell admission about her marriage earlier this week - adding that she and Will are not legally divorced
‘They all want everyone to be true to themselves and not hold any more grudges or secrets.

‘Jaden and Willow hope that everyone can now heal and remove any drama that still might be in their worlds now that all the revelations have come out.

‘They have seen the attacks that their mom has gotten from all of this, and they really hope people can trust their mom in the future, they weren’t expecting negativity to shine on their mom but now that it is happening, they want to get through it all as a family.’

Another source told DailyMail.com that Will and Jada had ‘put their children in a very strange and uncomfortable situation’ and, while Willow has always had a close relationship with her mom, they claimed she is angry with her mother for airing so much dirty laundry in public.

‘They were constantly asked about their parents and for seven years they had to basically lie to everyone and pretend that everything was perfectly fine when they knew it was not,’ the insider said.

‘This made them extremely agitated at times and they would constantly get in fights with each other and with them.’

Although Willow is understood to be upset at her mother for sharing this news in such a public manner, the insider said that the singer has long harbored resentment towards her father behind the scenes.

They added: ‘Willow holds so much animosity towards Will in particular. She will always take Jada’s side in things.

‘She does not know why her mom had to go and tell the world all their dirty laundry. She feels like she is laughed at by all her peers.’

Jaden, who previously voiced his desire to become an emancipated minor aged 15, is said to have 'many issues' with both parents

Jaden, who devastated both parents when he requested to be emancipated from them aged just 15, has also reportedly been struggling to come to terms with the latest developments surrounding their marriage.

‘Jaden has had so many issues with them, and this has always really been hard for him to deal with,’ the source continued.

‘He filed for emancipation from them just three years before they split. Will pushed him into doing what he does.’

Will shed light on Jaden’s desire to be freed from his parents in his memoir, Will, in 2021.

‘At 15 years old, when Jaden asked about being an emancipated minor, my heart shattered,’ he penned. ‘He ultimately decided against it, but it sucks to feel like you’ve hurt your kids.’

Jaden, who previously claimed his mother introduced him to psychedelics, spoke about his request to become an emancipated minor during an appearance on The Ellen Show while sitting alongside Will in 2013.

At the time, he joked: ‘Here’s the thing I need to explain, I’m not going anywhere. The thing that people don’t get is that everything at his house is free, so I can get everything and anything at his house.

‘So, I’m gonna be there for 20, 30 more years. But he says that as soon as I have a movie that’s bigger than one of his movies, then I have to get my own house.’

Willow is said to be team Jada - and holds 'much animosity towards her dad, Will'

An insider claims Will and Jada's secret 'extremely agitated' their kids and would lead to fights
Will – who is also a father to son Trey, 30, from his first wife Sheree Zampino – laughed, and added: ‘I think I made a joke in Tokyo. My baby boy is never leaving me ever! No emancipation for the Smith kids.’

Willow has talked openly about her struggles with growing up in the spotlight, telling Interview magazine in 2017: ‘It’s absolutely, excruciatingly terrible.’

The singer said she battled with depression as a result of knowing people would laugh and poke fun at her family.

‘Growing up and trying to figure out your life…while people feel like they have some sort of entitlement to know what’s going on, is absolutely, excruciatingly terrible — and the only way to get over it, is to go into it,’ she said.

‘You can’t change your face. You can’t change your parents. You can’t change any of those things. So I feel like most kids like me end up going down a spiral of depression, and the world is sitting there looking at them through their phones; laughing and making jokes and making memes at the crippling effect that this lifestyle has on the psyche.’

Jada praised her children for standing by her during this rocky time in her marriage – adding that they brought her solace.

‘My children, they’re little gurus,’ she told People. ‘They’ve taught me a deep sense of self-acceptance.

‘They love every part of me. The level of love, unconditional love that they have for me and their dad.

‘And it’s one thing to want to be the person that gives that unconditional love. And then there’s, to be the recipient of that.’
