Seventy-six thousand fans poured into Arrowhead stadium last night to watch the most hotly anticipated football game of the season that ended in an Eagles victory over the Chiefs.

Some were there for the Philadelphia Eagles hoping for the win that eluded them in the Super Bowl. Some were rooting for the home team, the Kansas City Chiefs. Others had hoped for a glimpse of Taylor Swift.

But none have a more personal connection than Donna Kelce, 71, who told DailyMail.com that she was, quite simply, there to see her sons.

Speaking exclusively ahead of the game she admitted she wasn’t disappointed that Swift was unable to attend and explained, ‘I’m here to see my sons so no I’m not disappointed she’s not here.

‘She’s wonderful and when she comes it’s great but for me it’s about them.’

Donna said she understood fans’ keen interest in her younger son’s relationship with the billionaire popstar and didn’t mind it at all.

She said, ‘I understand it. It’s a happy story and I understand people want that.’

For her part she said, ‘I’m just happy for my son.’

Donna added that she would be doing what she always does when she watches the game tonight.

She said ‘I’ll be supporting the offense. They’re both the offense.’

In the end Jason’s Eagles exacted revenge over Travis’ Chiefs for their Super Bowl LVII loss as Philly came back to win 21-17.

Donna was seen hours before the game Monday with a police escort as she donned a half-red, half-green shirt in honor of her sons’ teams.

The mother of the NFL stars waved towards fans, with one saying ‘love your boys!’

One police officer even held an umbrella above her head as strutted to the stadium as a vision of NFL royalty.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift was thousands of miles away in Brazil after postponing Saturday’s show to Monday due to extreme heat after a fan died of suspected cardiac arrest.

Swift, 33, made a tearful return to the stadium Sunday night when she told fans how much she loved them and dedicated a song to 23-year-old Ana Clara Benvides, the fan who died Friday in the same punishing heat that saw Swift postpone Saturday’s concert.

The change threw the new couple’s plans into disarray as Kelce had hoped Swift would be there to cheer him on Monday.

Instead, it fell to him to console and support tearful Swift ahead of joining his team Sunday night.

DailyMail.com revealed that Kelce 34, spent more than thirty minutes on the phone to Taylor Sunday night, in an emotional call placed the moment she left the stage at Nilton Santos Stadium in Rio.

While other players dropped their cars and headed straight into a hotel, Travis was seen on the phone with his lover,  sad and disappointed that their reunion was not meant to be.

Kelce looked relieved as he spoke with his sweetheart. He appeared completely preoccupied and his somber expression was a world away from the smiling swagger his fans have grown used to seeing since he first started stepping out with Swift.

Swift’s attendance at Monday night’s game would have been further proof of just how much she has been embraced by the Kelce family as the clan turn out in force to support brothers Jason and Travis, whose sibling rivalry is an extraordinary story of NFL success.

But more than that, this trip to Kansas City was to have been the first time Kelce shared his new home with the woman he is very clearly placing at the center of his world.

DailyMail.com revealed that Kelce has now moved into the $6million home he purchased last month with Swift and their life together firmly in mind.

And while his mother Donna, 71, has admitted on GMA that her son ‘likes attention so long as he can handle it,’ he has also made it clear that there is little he enjoys more than time holed up with Swift.

On Monday, it was also revealed that Donna ‘still berates herself’ over the lukewarm response she gave on the TODAY show regarding Travis’ relationship with Taylor Swift.

When asked for details on her meeting with Swift and what the pop superstar was like in person, Donna simply said: ‘It was okay.’

However, it appears Donna has regrets over her blunt answer to the question on Swift.

In a Wall Street Journal Magazine piece profiling Travis’ life, Donna reveals her initial aim was to not sound too keen to spill details on her son’s private life.

But she now has no qualms with endorsing her son’s relationship with the singer and songwriter.

‘I can tell you this,’ she said about Travis. ‘He’s happier than I’ve seen him in a long time…. God bless him, he shot for the stars!’
