Paul Mescal has sparked dating rumours with US pop star Gracie Abrams in recent weeks – with the pair being spotted shopping in Mayfair over the weekend.

The Gladiator II star, 28, was first seen with the ‘nepo baby’ pop star, 24, in June, first prompting speculation among fans that they were an item.

And despite seemingly trying to keep their romance on the down-low, they may have given the game away during their understated shopping spree.

Gracie is soon set to hit the big time after her high-profile friendship with superstar Taylor Swift – who she recently collaborated on a new song with and supported on her Eras Tour – propelled her further into the spotlight.

And she is the daughter of Star Wars filmmaker legend Jeffrey Jacob Abrams, 58, – growing up in the starry world of music from a young age.

Star Wars filmmaker legend dad

The brunette beauty is the daughter of Star Wars filmmaker legend J.J. Abrams – while her mother is producer Katie McGrath.

After being put into the ‘nepo baby ‘ category Gracie was quick to acknowledge earlier this year how lucky she is and to explain that her parents are kept far away from her music career.

In an interview with iHeart Radio, Abrams said, ‘There’s a privilege in having even grown up around the knowledge of what the entertainment world looks like at all…

‘But I definitely kept them so far out of it.

‘Songwriting, for me, was always just a personal outlet to deal with my experiences without having to talk to anyone, especially my parents for many years.’

Jeffrey is an American filmmaker and composer best known for his works in the genres of action, drama, and science fiction.

Abrams wrote and produced such films as Regarding Henry (1991), Forever Young (1992), Armageddon (1998), Cloverfield (2008), Star Trek (2009), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

Friendship with Taylor Swift

Last year, Gracie joined Taylor for over 30 shows across the U.S. before performing a limited run of sold-out acoustic shows with Aaron Dessner in NYC, Nashville and LA.

Gracie, who has been friends with the Cruel Summer songstress since 2022, recently made a surprise appearance on the Eras Tour in June to perform the pair’s song ‘us’ at Wembley Stadium.

The Close To You singer has also previously supported Olivia Rodrigo on tour in 2022.

Earlier this year, Gracie shared a video of Taylor putting out a blaze with a fire extinguisher in her $50million New York City apartment.

The You Belong With Me star was seen looking shocked as she showered her lavish kitchen in extinguisher fumes after a candle fell over – starting a small fire.

Taylor – clad in a white dress – was seen picking up the extinguisher as the baffled star said: ‘What do I do about this!’ I think we’re gonna die!’

The Sparks Fly hitmaker was filmed fumbling with the extinguisher as she said: ‘I don’t know, b***h.’

She then sprayed the extinguisher which left her in disbelief as the entire room was coated in white fumes – leaving her cats shocked.

Taylor said: ‘Our purses are ruined, and my shoes and the whole room I think.’

Gracie added: ‘It smells really good though!;

The post was captioned: ‘Writing this entire song from 2am to 6am was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in my life. @taylorswift now we know how to use a fire extinguisher. I love you.’

Getting set for the big time with huge tour

Gracie announced on Monday that she is set to hit the road around the UK and Europe for her The Secret Of Us tour.

The Grammy-nominated singer is set to take to the stage in an 18-date run.

She will be kicking off her shows in Madrid on February 9 before heading to other European cities including Lisbon, Amsterdam, Berlin and Hamburg.

The star, who recently opened the Eras Tour, will then perform in the UK cities; Nottingham, London, Manchester, Cardiff and Dublin before wrapping in Glasgow.

Fans who pre-ordered the new album on her official store will get the chance to buy tickets during a presale that begins July 17 at 10am.

In 2024, she was nominated for her first Grammy in the Best New Artist category alongside artists like Ice Spice and Noah Kahan.

Gracie has made a lot of music alongside the producer and musician Aaron Dessner. Dessner has worked with Swift on all of her albums since folklore in 2020.

Fashion icon

Gracie has been sporting fashionable Chanel looks for years now.

As a brand ambassador, she attended the 2024 Met Gala for the first time in a Chanel gown.

She has attended fashion shows and events with the brand, and even performed at Chanel’s watches and fine jewelry flagship store opening event in Manhattan earlier in 2024.

‘Secret dates’ with Paul

Paul has poured more fuel on rumours he is dating Gracie, after the pair were both snapped shopping in Mayfair last weekend.

Paul was spotted on Bond Street on July 13, just 20 minutes before Gracie appeared shopping nearby.

The photos of the pair confirm previous reports that they had been shopping together in London and trying to go ‘unnoticed’.

On Sunday, a source told The Sun: ‘Paul and Gracie looked like any other young couple hitting the shops, and they went almost unnoticed.

‘They seemed very relaxed in each other’s company and were busy checking out the posh shops on Bond Street.

‘Paul is a very low-key person, as is Gracie, so there was no fanfare and they kept their distance from each other when they were out on the street’.

The insider also claimed that following their shopping spree, both Paul and the Close To You singer ‘left separately’ and they each made their own way home.

Gracie has been in the UK for a series of gigs and is said to have been staying at the Chiltern Firehouse in central London.

Paul wasn’t spotted at any of her recent shows which took place in Kingston, Bristol and Southampton, but the source thought it was ‘telling’ that she chose to keep coming back to the capital city.

The couple were also seen recently dining together at Brat, a Michelin-starred restaurant in London’s Shoreditch.

It has been claimed that Paul’s upcoming role in the Gladiator sequel will send him ‘into the stratosphere’ of stardom.

Paul has previously dated singer Phoebe Bridgers and recently caused romance rumours to swirl with Natalie Portman.

He was seen enjoying an evening of drinking with the actress, 42, in London, with snaps showing the pair looking giddy while having a cigarette outside Bar 69 in May.
