For a young fan, Travis Kelce’s presence at the 2024 American Century Championship was a chance for a dream to come true. He saw the Chiefs tight end walking on the golf course and stuck out a fist in expectation. The Super Bowl-winning star did not disappoint the young man as he changed course and gave him a bump before going on with his game.

One could clearly see that the fan was excited and the original poster sharing the video from her perspective wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter,

“Travis Kelce’s fist bump with our 7 year old super fan at the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe.”

American Century Championship sees Travis Kelce hitting errant balls

Travis Kelce might be the best tight end in the business, but his golf game has gone a bit rusty. And that is leading to multiple exchanges with fans. Unlike the one above where he engaged with someone who was looking out for him, in these instances his golf shots keep finding random people.

In one video, he was seen kissing the arm of a person his errant golf shot hit after giving him a bear hug. It happened on the first hole of the American Century Championship.

In another instance, Travis Kelce hit a shot that ended up injuring a fan. Luckily for him, there were no hard feelings and she turned out to be a Taylor Swift fan. Katie Griffiths was the unlucky recipient of an errant ball that came out and hit her on the back of the head. But misfortune turned to fortune because she managed to click a photograph with the tight end.

Her husband, Ryan, revealed that she is a Chiefs follower because of Taylor Swift, even though he is a Buffalo Bills fan. The Kansas City Star reported him saying,

“I’m a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan to be honest with you,” he said. “But my wife is a big Kelce fan. She’s a big Taylor fan. And Jason was sweet, too. He came over to check on her. They both felt really bad. They were gentleman and came over to check on her.”

Travis Kelce has not had a good time with his golf swings, it seems, even though he has delighted the crowd and personally interacted with the fans above. But as a two-time Super Bowl champion, one assumes that he will not lose too much sleep on this because in a few weeks, he will be back at training camp and there he is a beast.
