Sylvester Stallone has spent much of his career carefully crafting his no-nonsense, tough-guy image. Through franchises like Rocky and Rambo, Sly became a household name, but it would appear that his gruff, often intimidating persona isn’t only reserved for his on-screen characters.

Audiences will get a candid look into Stallone’s home life with the release of his new reality show The Family Stallone, and it’s safe to say the 76-year-old’s private ongoings are sparking real interest.

Not least where his methods of parenting relating to his three beloved daughters, Sophia, 26, Sistine, 24, and Scarlet, 20, are concerned. The girls have already gone on record to reveal how it’s impossible for them to date anyone while under the watchful gaze of their father, going as far as to claim that he quite literally scares potential suitors off.

Now, protective dads looking out for their daughters’ best interests is nothing new. Hell, the trope has been a staple of Hollywood films for as long Hollywood has been Hollywood.

Even so, Stallone appears to have no qualms with taking what can only be considered an old school approach to the prospect of his daughters finding new men to live their lives with.

Indeed, one scene from the upcoming The Family Stallone, set to drop May 17, has generated a particular amount of buzz, with The Expendables star proving beyond all doubt that he will guard the… ahem… innocence of his daughters strictly.

As per the Daily Mirror, the clip in question sees Stallone on the verge of a meltdown after one of his daughter’s jokingly tries to convince him that she’s fallen pregnant.

For the legendary actor’s birthday, daughter Sistine, 24, and her mother baked Sly a birthday cake. They then wrote “I’m Pregnant” on top of the cake to try and bait a reaction.

And react Stallone certainly did. In the clip, the Rocky Balboa star apparently doesn’t take long at all to lose his cool.

“Please turn these cameras off so I can destroy this place,” he says.

“I’m going full Rambo.”

The 76-year-old later calmed down when he realized the whole thing was a ruse, but it’s safe to assume he didn’t see the funny side of the prank.

In the same episode, Sistine went on to discuss in detail the difficulties surrounding her and her sisters’ dating experiences.

“Dating when you have the dad that we do is rough,” the 24-year-old said.

“The first time a boy came over to meet my parents, he’s going in for the first kiss. I was so nervous and excited.

“He looked up at the balcony and said, ‘Oh my God, what is that?’ It was my dad, standing on the balcony, backlit so you just see a silhouette.

“He’s so cinematic. This kid jumped in the car and I never saw him again.”

As for Stallone’s decision to let cameras in to his home to film and scrutinize his family life, the actor said he had a good reason.

“I’m on the road so much and I looked around and thought, my daughters are grown up,” he explained.

“Wouldn’t it be great to spend some serious time with them where they couldn’t escape, where they had to be with me.”

I guess fathers are always going to be protective of their little girls, but is Sly taking things a little too far? Let us know your thoughts in the comments box.
