The singer, 55, was greeted with a standing ovation as she walked onstage at the awards – before fans went into uproar over Taylor Swift, 34, ‘ignoring her’ as she collected her Album of the Year Award.

Dion, 55, handed her the award, but fans pointed out that Swift didn’t acknowledge her and didn’t make eye contact, quickly looking back to celebrate the moment with her collaborators instead.

However, there appeared to be no ill-feelings as the iconic pair later posed-up happily backstage.

A source told PageSix: ‘I don’t think Céline cared and they talked backstage afterwards. But Céline was just gracious and happy to be there. Of course, the right thing would have been for Taylor to acknowledge her, like Adele did years ago.

‘She wanted to show everyone that she’s doing alright. She has good days and bad days … it’s a painful disease, but it’s not a death sentence.

‘She’s clearly capable of doing things and she wanted to show everyone that she’s back. She looked fantastic. The hope is that she will be able to perform.’

Celine then announced Swift’s acclaimed album Midnights had won the award – making Grammy history as she won the award for the fourth time.

The star’s fight to continue her career will be chronicled in new documentary, I Am: Celine Dion.

The hitmaker, announced in December 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome – an extremely rare disorder that makes the muscles in the torso and limbs alternate between spasming and being rigid. She revealed she would be stepping away from performing.

The new documentary – captured over more than a year of filming – follows the star as she battles to continue her normal life and career amid her diagnosis – and vows the condition ‘won’t define her’ as she vows to raise awareness.

Swift was nominated in six categories at the ceremony – Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Anti-Hero’ and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her ‘Karma’ collaboration with Ice Spice.

The pop star won Best Pop Vocal Album and the night’s biggest honor, Album of the Year.

Swift beat out an impressive field for the award, including: Boygenius – The Record, Janelle Monáe – The Age of Pleasure, Jon Batiste – World Music Radio, Lana Del Rey – Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,Miley Cyrus – Endless Summer Vacation, Olivia Rodrigo – Guts, and SZA – SOS.
