Hawkeyes Coach Makes Big Flex With Caitlin Clark During Iowa-Northwestern
Indiana Fever star guard Caitlin Clark was among the thousands of people in attendance at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday as the Iowa Hawkeyes hosted the Northwestern Wildcats in a Big Ten football showdown. Clark and many former members of the 2023-24 Iowa women’s basketball team, including the likes of Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall, were honored during a timeout in the second quarter, with Hawkeyes fans giving them a warm reception.
Of course, a lot of pictures, including one that Iowa assistant coach Raina Harmon shared via Instagram Stories.
“Family First,” Harmon captioned the photo with her and Clark while flexing their Big Ten Championship and Final Four rings.” Family Always!”
It was not that long ago when Clark was the biggest thing in women’s college basketball — if not in all of college hoops. In four seasons with the Hawkeyes, Clark averaged 28.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 8.2 assists while making 46.2 percent of her shots from the field through 139 games (all starts).
Although Clark never won a national championship, she will always be regarded as one of the greatest ever to play hoops at the collegiate level.
As for the football game, the Hawkeyes crushed Northwestern, 40-14, to improve their overall record to 5-3 and go over the .500 mark in Big Ten play with a 3-2 slate.
