Sasha Banks, formerly a WWE superstar, is now professionally known as Mercedes Mone and is presently under contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). She initially gained fame in WWE and had a successful wrestling career during her time there. Sasha Banks ascended to stardom in WWE from 2012 to 2022 when she first joined the organization in 2012.

She is renowned for her exceptional wrestling abilities and is widely regarded as one of the premier female wrestlers in the world. With her outstanding skills, Sasha secured numerous championships and garnered the affection and admiration of her fans. Nevertheless, in 2022, Banks departed from the Stamford-based promotion, allegedly due to creative differences.

The Boss had quite a lucrative contract being in the company and was seen as a center of attraction. Being one of the four horsewomen of WWE, she was treated fairly by the company and had several rivalries with the company.  She reportedly earned a staggering $180,000 per year while working with the Stamford-based promotion. Her salary was increased to $250,000 per year after headlining WrestleMania 37.

Banks reportedly demanded an increase in her salary matching her status and contributions she made for the company. She wanted her salary similar to the amounts paid to Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, who were the main faces of the company. Despite Sasha’s consistent efforts for the company, WWE never accepted the negotiations to increase her salary.

Why did Sasha Banks leave WWE and where is she now?

The Boss surely gave some pretty solid matches during his final days in the company. She was in a tag team with Naomi and was the reigning Women’s Tag Team Champion at the time. The duo decided to walk out of the company due to creative differences and no proper plans for the women’s division. However, there were several reports which also stated that Sasha’s salary was another huge factor behind their exit.

Banks headed to Japan after leaving WWE under the ring name Mercedes Mone and had several matches in New Japan Pro Wrestling. She also appears in NJPW’s sister promotion World Wonder Ring Stardom and even won the IWJP Women’s Championship upon her arrival.

After months of speculation and teases, fans want Sasha to be back on the Stamford Bases Organization. There are several rumors regarding her return which might be true. As of now, she has a variety of options to choose from for her career ahead. A return path to WWE will always be by her side and fans would love to see it happen.
