In Photos: First look at Angel Reese’s latest peanut butter cups-themed custom Reebok sneakers
Angel Reese was all in favor of the new Reese’s peanut butter cups-themed sneakers. The custom kicks designed by a fan went viral on social media, and the Chicago Sky rookie responded to the post with a fire emoji, showing her approval of the eye-popping kicks. After the wrapper of the all-time classic, the shoes feature the brown, gold, and chocolate color schematic with “Reese Angel” written on the vamp.
The custom-shoe artist, Marvin Baroota, tagged the Sky Forward and captioned the post:
“You got the memo.”
This comes on the back of Reese sporting the kiss-covered Reebok Soluton PE when the Sky played the Las Vegas Aces. This was the night she made history by becoming the youngest player in WNBA history to record nine straight double-doubles. Throughout the season, the rookie has debuted several player-exclusive and custom colorways of her sneakers.
Angel Reese confirms getting her Reebok signature shoe line
Earlier, Angel Reese confirmed getting her signature shoe line from Reebok and revealed why she inked a multi-year deal with the sports giant instead of Nike.
“So many different shoe companies wanted to work with me. But I chose Reebok. What was it about Reebok? One, they don’t have a women’s basketball player [as] a face. So I wanted to be that. Two, Shaq. You know my relationship with Shaq,” she said (via Hypebeast).
“And three, I like how they’re rebranding everything and they’re letting me be the creator behind everything I want to do. So I’m having my own shoe line coming out, merch with my name on it…Y’all like what I wear, y’all like how I dress, y’all like my style. I wanted to incorporate that into Reebok,” Reese added.
On the season front, Reese has been solid for the Chicago Sky, showcasing her range of plays. She is averaging 13.5 points and 11.1 rebounds per game in her rookie season. However, the team has yet to conjure up a string of wins and make their case for the playoffs. At the time of writing, the Sky are placed eighth overall in the WNBA standings with a 6-10 record.
Up next, Angel Reese and Chicago host the Minnesota Lynx and follow it up with a three-game away trip with skirmishes against the Atlanta Dream and two games against the Seattle Storm. As for her Peanut Butter colorways, it remains to be seen if Reese sports it at some point this season.
