The 45-year-old engaged in a battle of wits and brawn with the funnyman as they traded one-liners while arm wrestling.

Epic battle: Jason Statham got into a wrestling match with Jimmy Fallon on his late night show, on Friday
Jimmy started off the comedic skit with a proposition: ‘Now look, you’re a big action star and obviously you’re a pretty strong dude but – this is going to sound weird for me to say this – I bet I can take you in an arm wrestle.’
Statham’s only reply was an incredulous look.
Fallon continued his challenge by stating that he has gotten strong by exercising at a women’s fitness centre: ‘I mean, I’m serious. I’ve been working out over at Curves gym,’ adding, ‘And I’m pretty sure I can beat you.’
The challenge: Jimmy wagered he could win the action star in an arm wrestling match
Jason replied by cracking his knuckles as accepted the wager, saying: ‘Well, let’s find out.’
Jimmy offered one caveat: ‘I got to warn you though, when I arm wrestle I like to list all of the things I’m going to do if I win.’
But the Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels star had a quick comeback: ‘That’s very interesting because I like to list all of the things I’m going to do WHEN I win.’
The stocky actor punctuated his confident remarks with finger jabs pointed at his host.
Jimmy, taking a decidedly deeper tone of voice, exclaimed: ‘Oh it’s on now! Let’s do this!’
Too much fun: At one point the 45-year-old The Expendables star could not contain his laughter over the ridiculous skit
As the two combatants readied themselves for the match, an excited woman in the audience could be heard heckling: ‘Take your shirt off Jason!’
To which Jimmy retorted, not skipping a beat: ‘Mom! Stop it Mom!’
Once both men locked arms, ominous music set in, portending an epic struggle, as the two gladiators’ wriggled their fingers into their power grips.
As they began their muscular bout Jimmy initiated the assault of one-liners: ‘After I win I’m going to listen to my favourite song forty-seven times in a row, Drops of Jupiter by Train.’
Jason quickly shot back: ‘After I win I’m going to launch a Kickstarter to have them make a Gilmore Girls movie. What happens between Luke and Lorelai? I must know!’
The 38-year-old late night star countered: ‘After I win I’m going to go to a Home Depot and when the man comes up to ask if I need help finding anything I’m going to look him square in the eye and say “Dad?”‘
The winning move: Jason finally triumphed over his combatant just when things started getting a little too silly
But Jason appeared to score the winning verbal haymaker as he declared: ‘After I win I’m going to change my name from Jason Statham to Dick Longflop.’
After the innuendo drenched statement, Jimmy could not help but snort with laughter as he asked: ‘Why?’
But the Fever Pitch star had his own counter punch at the ready, as he jabbed with a complete non sequitur: ‘After I win I’m going to go to your Facebook page and comment on every single status update and say “I’m okay.”‘
Despite this flurry of comedic fire power, Jason kept his poise as he spitted out: ‘After I win I’m going to build a treehouse and fill it with so much love and warmth that it becomes a tree home.’
Following the optimistic declaration, Jason slammed Fallon’s arm thereby winning the match.
The Snatch star then swept his arms over his head like Rocky Balboa in a celebration of his victory.
Champion of the world: Statham raised his arms in a celebration of victory after the win
Afterwards, the screen framed Jason as scrolling titles described his life post victory: ‘Jason Statham went on to launch a Kickstarter to fund a Gilmore Girls movie. He is listed in the credits as “Executive Producer: Dick Longflop.”‘
Then the camera centres on Fallon as it tells his narrative following the brutal loss: ‘After his loss, Jimmy Fallon went insane and began wandering the streets half-naked.’
Jimmy could be seen mock crying as the next title read: ‘This is when he got the nickname “Dick Shortflop”.’
Meanwhile, Jason, who has been dating model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for nearly three years, has a new action movie Hummingbird coming out on June 28.
The film stars Statham as a damaged ex-special forces soldier navigating London’s criminal underworld who assumes another man’s identity – transforming him inadvertently into an avenging angel in the process.
Happy couple: Jason has been dating model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for nearly three years, pictured in London at the Hummingbird premiere, on Monday
