Despite not being in the Hollywood limelight in recent years, Jackie Chan’s riches have kept on witnessing substantial additions
In a career that spans over 6-decades, Jackie Chan has cemented himself as one of the biggest names in showbiz, becoming an icon in the action landscape. While the actor has no intentions of leaving his riches behind for his family and is adamant about donating it all to charity, this hasn’t stopped the actor from racking in huge numbers year after year.
Although the Rush Hour Star peaked in the ’90s and ’00s in Hollywood, it was the mid-2010s, which witnessed a substantial spike in his gargantuan net worth, especially in the year 2016.

Jackie Chan Surpassed Major A-Listers in Terms of Annual Earnings in 2016
While Jackie Chan has been notably absent from the realm of Hollywood apart from a few exceptions, his riches haven’t stopped skyrocketing following his stardom in Asia. And the mid-2010s witnessed the actor racking in millions, which has resulted in the actor’s net worth currently standing at an estimated $400 million. But in 2016 alone, the Hong Kong icon made a record $61M, thanks to China’s burgeoning box office per Forbes, leaving behind the likes of Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Matt Damon, and Jennifer Lawrence.
Although there isn’t an exact breakdown of his 2016 earnings, following his theatre chains along with his dominance in China’s box office, the astounding numbers aren’t surprising.
None of Jackie Chan’s $400M Riches Is Going to His Children
With a possible Rush Hour 4 in the talks and Kung Fu Panda 4 set to make its debut next year, Chan’s riches would likely witness another major upsurge in the coming years. However, the Hidden Strike Star has no intentions of leaving any of it behind for his children and he has been pretty vocal over this matter. Reflecting on his son Jaycee, who was reportedly arrested back in 2014 following drug possession, Chan expressed that his son could make his own money if he is capable. He told NewsAsia (via CelebrityNetWorth),
“If he is capable, he can make his own money. If he is not, then he will just be wasting my money.”

While it won’t be the Hong Kong Legend’s son who will be enjoying his father’s wealth, the actor assured fans that it’ll be going to the right cause. Although the actor reportedly stated that he’ll be donating half of his wealth to charity, leaving the rest for his family, he eventually changed his verdict, stating he’ll be giving away 100% of the money.
