There is nobody in Hollywood who has fans more confused about their marital status than Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. Just months after she revealed in her memoir, Worthy, that they’ve been separated for seven years, Jada is doubling down on her marriage and claiming that the slap heard around the world at the 2022 Oscars saved their union. It has many people scratching their heads, especially since Will was seen in Miami over the weekend with a Jada lookalike.

Jada curiously shared with the Daily Mail’s You Magazine that she calls it the “holy slap” in her household “because so many positive things came after it.” That shocking moment stunned the world when Will hit presenter Chris Rock for making a joke about his wife, but she seems to think it shook her family back together. “That moment of the s**t hitting the fan is when you see where you really are,’ she said. “After all those years trying to figure out if I would leave Will’s side, it took that slap for me to see I will never leave him. Who knows where our relationship would be if that hadn’t happened?”

While Jada seems committed to making their marriage work, Will might be on a different page. He was spotted at Art Basel with a mystery woman who looks a lot like his on-again, off-again wife. (See the photo HERE.) She rocked a shaved head like Jada, so maybe he has a definite type. TMZ noted that “she’s been at Will’s side lately and acting pretty chummy.” Although the media outlet was quick to note that there was “no PDA,” it is curious that Will was willing to be photographed with her at a very celebrity-heavy event crawling with paparazzi.

The couple spent Thanksgiving together as a family, but they have been notably operating as separate units, and not traveling together. So, it’s hard to decipher what is exactly going on behind the scenes between Will and Jada, but maybe it’s best to label their relationship as “complicated” — at least for now.
