Jason Kelce has vowed to return the Mexican wrestling mask with a Chiefs design he wore as he partied long into the night after Kansas City’s Super Bowl victory.

A Dallas eighth-grader claimed on Thursday the mask Kelce was seen wearing at a Las Vegas night club belonged to him, with Kelce’s insistence of ‘Operation “Get Elijah His Mask Back” is underway!’ confirming the luchador mask is Elijah Smith’s.

In this week’s episode of the ‘New Heights’ podcast, the Eagles center said he found the mask on the dance floor after the Chiefs victory.

A photo of Smith and Kelce, with the 36-year-old NFL star in the mask, has also circulated since the Super Bowl.

Kelce apologized to the owner of the mask during the podcast, even though it turns out Smith handed Taylor Swift’s boyfriend’s brother the mask himself.

The Smith family are from the Dallas area and root for the Chiefs, with Elijah saying the luchador mask brings the team luck.

‘I appreciate everyone bringing this to my attention, and look forward to uniting Elijah with his mask once again,’ Kelce said on social media Friday. ‘Your mask indeed brings great fortune, I owe you big time, sorry it was commandeered.’

Kelce was in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl between the Chiefs and 49ers to support his younger brother, Travis Kelce, one of Kansas City’s best players.

After the Chiefs won their second straight Super Bowl, Kelce joined his brother and other members of the team for the celebration.

‘It didn’t start getting to the next level until I found that luchador mask,’ Jason said during the podcast. ‘Initially, when I first got there, you (Travis) were trying to get me to go up on the stage with you, and I was like, “Nah, I’m gonna be over here. This is your guys’ time.”‘

‘There’s something about finding that luchador mask that really just transformed the night,’ Jason added.

The behavior from Kelce was similar to those displayed by Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin, who partied with the Stanley Cup after captaining his team to a championship victory on the road over the Golden Knights at nearby T-Mobile Arena.

Ovechkin got on stage with famous DJ Tiësto with the NHL’s championship trophy at a Las Vegas nightclub after winning his first title as a player.

During the celebrations, the Smith family lost track of Kelce in the massive crowd of people, and therefore, the special mask too.

‘I gave him my mask and then he dropped it and then picked it back up,’ Smith told NBC Dallas. ‘Then I got a picture with him wearing it and then I just hung out next to them for five to ten minutes, they were dancing and everything.’

The mask, which is autographed by Chiefs star Trent McDuffie now appears it will be back in Smith’s possession, possibly with a new autograph from an Eagle.
