Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum was benched again by Steve Kerr in Team USA’s 2024 Paris Olympics semifinals win over Serbia.
Team USA defeated Serbia in the 2024 Paris Olympics semifinals, advancing to the gold medal game against France. It was Steph Curry and LeBron James who led the way for Team USA in this win, as both players made history.

For Curry, he recorded the second-highest scoring Olympic game in Team USA history with 36 points. For James, he became the first player in Olympics history with multiple triple-doubles.
With a tighter rotation in this semifinals game, head coach Steve Kerr once again removed Jayson Tatum from his rotation. The Boston Celtics star and 2024 NBA champion did not play a single minute, which his mom reacted to in a post on X:

“No he not,” Tatum’s mother Brandy Cole wrote in response to a post asking of Tatum is injured. “But if you find out what’s going on please let me know – unacceptable and makes NO SENSE.”

Tatum’s mother also reposted this post that directly called out Kerr, saying he should not coach Team USA in 2028:
If Kerr is watching this and willingly deciding “Yeah, Jayson Tatum couldn’t help here” then he legitimately cannot coach in 2028
