However, after appearing for the red carpet event on Nov. 2, 2019, for the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles with artist Alexandra Grant, Keanu Reeves sparked rumors. And certainly so, the actor had been dating Grant for quite some time, according to the artist’s friend, Jennifer Tilly.

Years after the rumors surrounding Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock subsided, the actor started dating all over again. Being one of the most eligible bachelors in Hollywood, with a reputation of being the nicest guy, Reeves made headlines with Alexandra Grant, after the duo appeared together on the red carpet for the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles.

Although Reeves and Grant had been sparking rumors about their then-alleged romance, the pair’s sudden appearance on the red carpet further solidified the claims. However, fans were truly stunned by their appearance together during the event in 2019. Nonetheless, Grant’s friend, actress Jennifer Tilly wasn’t particularly shocked.

The actress broke the myth and confirmed the rumor about Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant during an interview with Page Six in 2020. Initially, although Tilly was completely stunned to learn about her friend dating the John Wick actor, eventually by the time the duo made a public appearance on the red carpet, Tilly got used to it.

Just Like Fans, Even Jennifer Tilly Was Initially Shocked 

During Jennifer Tilly’s interview with Page Six, the actress mentioned how Keanu Reeves and her friend Alexandra Grant had been dating for a long time. Further, Tilly mentioned how she was utterly shocked by the revelation when Grant confessed to dating the renowned actor.
“I remember a couple of years ago, about a year and a half ago, [Grant] said, ‘Keanu Reeves is my boyfriend,’ and I’m like, ‘Wait. What? What? What?‘”

Jennifer Tilly then added how fans’ reaction to Reeves and Grant’s public appearances shocked her. She disclosed that, although for fans their romance was new, it wasn’t such in reality.
“It’s really astonishing to me how in the last five months, all of a sudden, she goes to an event with him and everybody goes insane,  like, ‘It’s his new girlfriend,’ because she had gone to a lot of events with him. It’s just suddenly surfaced that he’s been dating her for several years.”

Discussing a bit about Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant’s relationship, Jennifer Tilly revealed, “I think everybody wishes that they had something like that. It’s not a razzle dazzle Hollywood romance.” The actress then concluded by praising her friend’s choice and said, “[Reeves] is a really great guy, too, but he’s really lucky”.

Thus, according to Jennifer Tilly, the duo have been dating for a long time, and therefore she expressed her desire for them to tie the knot, someday.
