San Francisco 49ers legend Jerry Rice dropped a very timely and cryptic message late Tuesday night on the Brandon Aiyuk drama, stating that this should all unravel fairly soon.

“I guess we will all have to find out tomorrow, GOATS! Will he stay or leave? Rice said in regards to Brandon Aiyuk.

‘This being posted Tuesday night means that there could be a conclusion Wednesday, if indeed Rice is correct. The drama has been occurring all off-season, and the two sides have made little to no progress on coming to an agreement on a contract extension or a trade to send Aiyuk elsewhere.

However, Aiyuk hasn’t been the easiest of pieces to move. The Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots reportedly had offers on the table that intrigued the 49ers, but Aiyuk’s lack of desire to be traded to either of those teams stood out.

He has expressed some serious interest in the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Washington Commanders to team up with former Arizona State teammate, Jayden Daniels, but this time San Francisco hasn’t got an offer in return that makes them want to pull the trigger on a deal. It’s been a lot of back and forth drama throughout.

Although if anyone would have an inside scoop on controversy revolving receivers in San Francisco, it very well could be Jerry Rice, who is debatably the greatest wide receiver of all time and played the bulk of his career with the 49ers.

As preseason week 2 nears, it is starting to become very uneasy to not have one of your star receivers on the football field at all. A conclusion is needed, and it could happen Wednesday.
