On Monday morning, Team USA gymnasts Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles competed in the final women’s gymnastics event of the 2024 Paris Olympics: the floor exercise final.

Brazilian gymnast Rebeca Andrade took home gold with a score of 14.166, Biles secured silver with a 14.133, and Chiles won bronze with a 13.766 score.

Originally, the bronze medal went to Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu who had a 13.700 score, but Chiles’ was given an extra 0.100 following an inquiry, bumping her just above Barbosu.

The exact moment Chiles and Biles found out that she won the bronze medal was captured and posted online. Chiles starts by jumping with joy with her coach.

After she runs down the floor a bit, Chiles falls to the ground and breaks down in tears of joy before being picked up by her coach. Biles then comes over and joins the celebration.

Fans were moved to tears after seeing Chiles’ reaction live and took to social media to leave their thoughts.

This Olympic medal for Chiles marked her first ever in an individual event. Her total Olympic medal count now sits at three, winning gold in this year’s team final and silver in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics team final.
