Keanu Reeves has been out en force promoting the fourth installment of the John Wick film franchise.
And on Thursday, the longtime leading man made a few stops while out and about in New York City.
On at least one occasion Reeves was bombarded by a number of eager fans looking to get a look and photo of the actor as he made his way around Midtown Manhattan on Thursday.
Despite all the commotion, the Canadian star seemed to take it all in stride, all while flashing his infectious smile.
Still out promoting John Wick: Chapter 4, which is slated to make its widespread release in theaters in the U.S., the film franchise has been huge success with fans, grossing more money at the box office with each release since the original dropped in 2014.
With the help of a couple of security workers leading the way, the actor was spotted making his way out of his SUV and then out on to the bustling streets, where fans quickly surrounded him with the cameras pointed his direction.
Many of the people were also looking to get memorabilia signed by sticking out their outstretched arms with a pen or magic marker in hand, ahead of his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Reeves, who was born in Beirut, Lebanon and raised in Toronto Canada, looked dressed for success in a classic black suit with a gray dress shirt, a dark gray tie and brown boots.
He also had his dark hair flowing long and straight past his shoulders with a part in the middle.
After going into a building in Midtown Manhattan, Reeves returned holding at least one item in his arms, as the security workers followed close behind, just as a precaution.
In recent days, Reeves has also attended a screening of John Wick 4 in New York, made several promotional appearances such as Good Morning America, went to another premiere and Q-and-A panel at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, and has given interviews to various publications like People and The Hollywood Reporter.
In the franchise, Reeves plays the title role of John Wick (2014), a retired hitman who’s built up a legendary reputation in the criminal underworld for his set of skills in the first installment.
Directed by Chad Stahelski from a screenplay by Derek Kolstad, the original release also starred Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen, Adrianne Palicki, Bridget Moynahan, Dean Winters, Ian McShane, John Leguizamo and Willem Dafoe.
John Wick went on to become a hit at the worldwide box office, grossing $86 million against a budget of between $20-30 million.
Stahelski and Kolstad teamed up once again for the sequel that followed about three years later with Moynahan, Leguizamo and McShane reprising their roles, along with new cast members Common, Laurence Fishburne, Ruby Rose, Lance Reddick, Peter Stormare and Franco Nero.
John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) ended up doing even better at the box office, raking in $171.5 million from a budget of about $40 million.
Stahelski returned to the director’s chair for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019), only this time he worked from a screenplay by Kolstad, Shay Hatten, Chris Collins and Marc Abrams.
Among the new cast members for the third round include the likes of Halle Berry, Mark Dacascos, Anjelica Huston and Asia Kate Dillon.
Following the trend of the first two movies, Chapter 3 topped both of the previous installments at the box office, earning a whopping $327.3 million against a budget of $75 million.
Reeves returned for the latest in the franchise alongside such cast regulars as Ian McShane (Winston), Lance Reddick (Charon) and Laurence Fishburne (Bowery King).
Again, John Wick: Chapter 4 is scheduled to make its widespread release in the U.S. on March 24.
