Keanu Reeves was in Houston in September for a performance with his band Dogstar, but he ended up making a wholesome memory for a young boy.

The 59-year-old actor – whose girlfriend recently called him an ‘inspiration’ – took some time before his Dogstar show at House of Blues in Houston, when he was met by a local woman named Annette Cruz and her nine-year-old grandson Elijah and his 11-year-old brother Caleb.

Cruz revealed that her ‘hobby’ is meeting and taking photos with celebrities, telling Houston TV station KHOU that she’s met over 100 celebs such as Kevin Hart, Jeremy Renner and Post Malone.

When she learned Reeves would be in town for the Dogstar show, she took her grandsons Elijah and Caleb with, with Reeves ultimatley playing a game of catch with Elijah.

When they arrived at House of Blues, Reeves’ appearance surprised Caleb, because of his hair.

‘He like came out, and I didn’t expect his hair to be like a little white. I knew his hair was long but I didn’t expect it to be white,’ Caleb said.

Elijah asked the actor to sign an autograph for him, but he wanted something else: a game of catch.

‘And when I got his signature and my brother got his signature, I asked him if he could play catch with me,’ Elijah said.

‘I asked him the first time and he kind of mumbled something. But I didn’t hear him so I asked him again and he said “yeah come on lets go,”‘ Elijah recalled.

The actor and young boy spent a half minute or so playing catch by the band’s tour bus, more than two decades afer Reeves played a quarterback in the 2000 film The Replacements.

‘I was really nervous because I was playing catch with a famous superstar,’ Elijah said, adding it was, ‘the top moment’ of his young life.

Annette added, ‘I was surprised he did it, and then he said, “hey, he’s got a great spiral.” I’m like thanks. I said, “that’s a day he’s always going to remember.”‘

Elijah’s older brother Caleb didn’t play catch with Reeves, but he did take a selfie with the star.

‘I asked if I could get a picture and that’s when my brother got to play catch with him,” Caleb said.

Elijah was seen playing catch with Caleb with the same football he played catch with Reeves, adding he’ll, ‘keep it forever and ever.’

Reeves most recently starred in John Wick: Chapter 4, and he’ll reprise that title character in the spin-off Ballerina.

He’ll also reprise his role as John Constantine from 2003’s Constantine in a new film sequel.
