Keanu Reeves vs Johnny Depp Salary Comparison: Even John Wick Fails Miserably to Beat Johnny Depp’s Gigantic Payday For Alice in Wonderland

Both the actors do not need to have too many lines to make an impact in a movie and also bag huge paychecks

It is no secret that famous Hollywood stars earn massive salaries from their jobs. Many factors affect their salaries like the number of scenes, number of words, or their popularity. Actors Johnny Depp and Keanu Reeves are certainly on top of that list, but Depp once earned a massive amount for his work in Alice in Wonderland, putting him ahead of Keanu Reeves.

Both the actors are unique in their own ways and they manage to break a few records with their flicks, but Reeves will have a hard time breaking Depp’s record salary of $44 million for his work in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.

Keanu Reeves got $15 million for his work in John Wick: Chapter 4

Actor Keanu Reeves has earned massive salaries in the past. From The Matrix to John Wick, he has worked in various franchises and has earned a fair share from it. As per Yahoo, for his work in the latest John Wick movie, John Wick: Chapter 4, Reeves got $15 million for a total of 380 words. It’s funny because his character has killed more people in all the John Wick movies than his words in John Wick: Chapter 4.

Initially, Reeves had more dialogue, but director Chad Stahelski cut it short because John Wick is “mysterious, and the mystery lets the audience fill in the gaps.” For every word, Reeves got roughly $39,000, yet he couldn’t beat Johnny Depp.

Just like Reeves, Depp has also earned a lot of money from his movies and he once managed to set a record that even Reeves couldn’t beat. For 2010’s Alice In Wonderland, Depp’s script had 661 words and for every word, he got paid roughly $66,000. In the end, Depp walked away with $44 million in total, according to the Telegraph. Depp has also earned over $265 million from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, according to Screen Rant.

Long before Depp set this record, Reeves had already signed a deal that helped him earn over $200 million for playing Neo in The Matrix movies, mainly through negotiated backend fees and profit-sharing deals. Apart from Reeves and Depp, actors like Robert Downey Jr., Will Smith, and Leonardo DiCaprio have earned over $30 million from single movies.
