When the actress appeared on the show, she said that she and her estranged husband, Will Smith, were in a really good place right now, so she thought it was a good time to release the book.

Kelly, 53, Mark, 52, and Jada, 52, discussed the opening of her book when the show returned from commercial.

Worthy opens with a heartwrenching instance of Jada contemplating suicide so seriously that she began thinking of ways to make her death look like an accident so her kids wouldn’t have to bear that pain.

Jada said that she wanted to talk about it now because there are so many people in that place who feel hopeless, alone, and like they have no way out.

“Everyone knew I was unhappy, but I couldn’t figure out why, so I just wanted out because I couldn’t figure it out,” she said.

“I couldn’t figure out why this beautiful life I had wasn’t satisfying.”

‘THAT PAINS ME’

Jada then shared that she was in the car and “looking for cliffs to drive over, you know?”

There was a brief silence in the air before Kelly spoke.

Choking back tears, Kelly said: “It’s like painful for me to hear you say that.”

“Yeah,” Mark said solemnly.

“And I can see it in your eyes,” Kelly said.

Jada was also holding back tears.

“I’m so-. I’m really glad that that did not happen,” Kelly said, as she grabbed Jada’s hand.

“Yeah. Me too,” Jada responded.

WHAT’S GOING ON?

After the emotional confession, Jada revealed the truth about her relationship with Tupac Shakur, after talking about him in her memoir.

“A lot of people think that Tupac and I had a romantic relationship, and we did not. I really wanna stress that,” Jada told the hosts.

The author emphasized that she and Tupac weren’t ever romantically involved despite being “really close.”

“Once people read the book, they’ll really understand why we were so close,” she went on.

Jada added that she and the late rapper were “like family,” divulging that they both had mothers “who struggled with substance abuse.”

The mother-of-two admitted that she and Tupac “really tried to compensate” for what they “weren’t getting at home.”

Jada has been dropping many details about her personal life, which includes her marriage with Will Smith, 55, amid her press tour for her book.
