Fans have been left divided over news that Kim Kardashian is now turning her hand to comedy following her role in American Horror Story: Delicate in September. 

The reality star played a sassy publicist named Siobhan Corbyn in the series, yet many fans weren’t impressed with her acting skills and branded her role a ‘stunt-casting,’ meaning it was given to her for marketing purposes rather than based on merit.

One fan wrote: ‘Kim Kardashian isn’t an actress this is stunt casting to get viewers. This just another example of superficial American culture is.’

While another added: ‘F*****g stunt casting. Not sure I’ll watch the new season of AHS.’

Yet the negative comments haven’t stopped the star pursuing new projects, as she is being eyed to star in and produce the comedy film The 5th Wheel, according to Deadline.

Five studios are said to be battling it to land the movie, with a script by Paula Pell and Janine Brito.

The SKIMS founder will produce alongside Pell and has attended every pitch for the movie, according to Deadline.

Speaking about her role in AHS to Variety, Kim said: ‘It’s a challenge. I like to challenge myself.’

Yet fans didn’t seem convinced with her performance as they took to Twitter to share their reactions.

One user wrote: ‘I’m not into Kim at all #AHS,’ while another added: ‘Kim sucks at acting. Why is she on this? Ruined it for me.’

A third user wrote: ‘Guys I’m so ducking confused what is the new plot of AHS? Why is Kim Kardashian here?’

A fourth added: ‘I feel like I gave the new season of #AHS a valiant, open-minded watch but… I can’t. Kim K is an objectively terrible actress.’

Another wrote: ‘Why is Kim Kardashian on AHS LMFAO’.

A sixth viewer penned: ‘Kim Kardashian really ruined AHS for me, now I don’t even wanna watch it.’

However, the response to Kim’s performance wasn’t all negative as some fans thought she did a great job.

One fan wrote: ‘I don’t care what people say, Kim Kardashian is doing amazing sweetie in AHS,’ while another added: ‘Mad props to Kim Kardashian’s acting skills in #AHS.’

Another added: ‘I know it was just a stunt casting to draw buzz to this season but Kim Kardashian deliver such a fun performance, chewing every scene she’s in. She’s easily the best part about this season (I know I’m shocked too)’.

Kim made her acting debut in the 2008 spoof comedy Disaster Movie and also made an appearance in Temptation: Confession of a Marriage Counsellor.

As well as recently working alongside Emma Roberts and Cara Delevingne in AMHS she also voiced the poodle Delores in a pair of Paw Patrol films.

Reacting the news she will star in the 5th Wheel comedy, fans continued to express their shock.

One wrote: ‘OMG ENOUGH ALREADY’.

A second penned: ‘@KimKardashian She is a model, entrepreneur, and reality TV star. And now, does she have a new job as a film actress?’

A third added: ‘I can tell you now that I will not be watching it’.

A fourth wrote: ‘Thanks for the warning ‘.
