Kim Kardashian is sending her well wishes to a shooting victim who went viral after saying a SKIMS bodysuit helped to save her life.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians alum, 42, surprised fan Nina Wiley with a video message on The Jennifer Hudson Show in a new episode set to air Wednesday, after Wiley shared her traumatic account of getting shot on the show.
The 22-year-old was shot four times after attending a party on New Year’s Eve leading into 2023 and told host Jennifer Hudson that she believes her SKIMS shapewear protected her life during the incident.
“I think I got a size too small, but it’s supposed to do the job,” Wiley, who suffered a fractured pelvis and ruptured bladder in the shooting, said.
“So not only did it help with compression when I did get shot, but it completely changed where the bullet even landed in me,” she explained, adding, “because the doctors were saying how…the bullets could have really killed me. People die from getting shot once, I got shot four times.”
Wiley revealed that “so much could have gone wrong” for her and said that she believes her SKIMS shape wear played “such a huge part in keeping me alive.”
“Especially because the ambulance took so long to get to me,” Wiley said of the aftermath of the shooting. “And doctors will tell you that the first thing that they do in situations like this is apply pressure — and I already it on lock.”
Hudson later presented a video from Kardashian, which brought Wiley to tears.
“Hi Nina, I wish I was there in person, but I wanted to send you a quick hello,” the SKIMS founder announced. “I loved hearing your story and I’m just thinking of you as you continue to recover.”
“I also hear that you are pursuing a degree in criminal justice, and I wanted to say congratulations. Study hard, it’s not easy. I look forward to seeing everything you’re doing with this,” Kardashian said, before sharing another surprise as she told Wiley she had sent her more SKIMS products to enjoy.

Earlier in the show, Wiley also opened up about her “overwhelming” recovery process after the shooting. “Going from being just being a regular 22-year-old girl and then one day you wake up and it’s like, you can’t use the bathroom, you can’t walk. Everything is so different,” she told Hudson, 42.
“Especially because the first few months, I’m so focused on physically recovering. And so it wasn’t until so many months later that I could even think about recovering, like, my mental,” she tearfully added, referring to her mental well-being after the incident.

After Kardashian’s video message, Hudson presented Wiley with two bags filled with SKIMS products which left the guest visibly emotional.
“Just knowing that she knows my name is insane to me,” Wiley said in reaction to the video message.
“Like, I’m a real person to her, you know. And to see that she went out of her way for all this. It’s nice to see something so beautiful can come out of something so awful.”
The Jennifer Hudson Show airs weekdays, with the episode featuring Wiley and Kardashian airing on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
