Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James is currently in Las Vegas, Nevada, preparing for the 2024 Summer Olympics. During his latest press conference with Team USA, James shared his honest rake on the best player in the WNBA.

” She’s [A’ja Wilson] the best player in the WNBA. They hit a hot streak ever since Chelsea Gray has come back…they will be one the teams that will compete for a championship,” said James via Vegas Sports Today.

Wilson is averaging 26.9 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals. The Las Vegas Aces started the season on a rocky start, but they’ve since won seven of their last 10 games to secure a 12-7 record. They’re listed as the No. 3 team in the Western Conference Standings and No. 5 in the WNBA.

James also mentioned that the tide changed for the back-to-back defending champions once veteran guard Chelsea Gray returned to the lineup.

Gray came back from a foot injury she suffered late last season. She was back on the floor on June 19th when the Aces took down the Seattle Storm 94-83. Gray finished that game with one point, seven assists, and four rebounds.

Wilson is No. 1 on most WNBA MVP rankings. The 27-year-old leads the league in points per game, is No. 2 in rebounds, No. 5 in steals, and No. 1 in blocks with 2.7 on the year.

The WNBA seems to have a more balanced playing field than in years past, but the Aces have the talent to compete with anyone. Wilson headlines a group of stars that includes Jackie Young, Kelsey Plum, and Gray.
