In a previous statement, he conveyed his enthusiasm for the video game franchise and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be involved in the project. Additionally, he extended his thanks to Amazon, Vertigo, and Games Workshop for their collaborative efforts in bringing Warhammer 40K to fruition as per Variety.

Although the project doesn’t stand to be canceled for now, it won’t proceed until the crucial agreement gets sorted between the parties involved. The audience will have to wait for a final word from the studios.

Why is Amazon’s Warhammer 40K series taking so long to be made?

Amazon’s Warhammer 40k series is taking a long as the studios and Games Workshop haven’t mutually agreed upon creative guidelines. Their agreement is unmovable until the creative vision is not sorted.

Games Workshop granted Amazon Studios exclusive rights to develop adaptations based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe under their agreement. Amazon also secured the option to license equivalent rights for the Warhammer Fantasy universe, contingent on the success of the initial project.

However, the show will only be able to move forward, if both parties share a common vision and agree to the set creative guidelines. According to Collider, in December 2023, it was known that both parties had a year to resolve their creative differences. Meaning, that the parties are required to settle their agreement by this year’s end.
