WNBA Icon Tamika Catchings Leaves No Doubt About Her Opinion of Caitlin Clark
Caitlin Clark has had a tremendous rookie season for the Indiana Fever, but since the return from the Olympic break, she has turned her game up a notch.
The Fever are sitting with a 5-1 record in the month of August and took over the sixth seed on Friday night with their win over the Chicago Sky. Both Indiana and the Phoenix Mercury are 16-16, but the Fever own the head-to-head tiebreaker after sweeping the season series 3-0.
After defeating the Sky, former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III declared that Clark locked up the Rookie of the Year award over Angel Reese with her 31 points and 12 assists performance.
WNBA and Fever legend Tamika Catchings backed RGIII’s input with a post of her own on Saturday.
“Truth is Truth,” Catchings wrote on X. “The Indiana Fever “TEAM” is stepping up and that’s what makes great players- great. Caitlin Clark makes the players around her better. The overall numbers since the Olympic break have been insane! LETTTSSSSS GOOOO”

Clark recently earned her first WNBA Player of the Week honors for her performances in games between August 15-25. The Fever went 2-1 in that timeframe, and Clark averaged 25.0 points, 9.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds per contest.
Catchings, who played with Indiana from 2002-2016, is widely considered the best Fever player of all time. She won a WNBA MVP award in 2011 and brought Indiana its first and only WNBA championship in 2012. Approval from an icon such as Catchings is something Clark can brag about.
Clark and the Fever will be back in action on Sunday, September 1, against Arike Ogunbowale and the Dallas Wings. Dallas defeated Indiana in their first match just before the All-Star game, but Clark still broke the single-game assists record with 19.
