Male Model Ousted from Met Gala 2024 for Being Too Handsome, Stealing the Spotlight
Italian male model Eugenio Casnighi revealed that he was fired from this year’s Met Gala due to his strikingly handsome appearance overshadowing famous celebrities.
Casnighi had been tasked with welcoming guests at the Met Gala in both 2022 and 2023. His good looks became the talk of the town during the 2023 event. While Emma Chamberlain was interviewing BLACKPINK’s Jennie Kim, Casnighi was working behind the scenes. However, the cameraman seemed mesmerized by Casnighi’s handsome appearance, leading the camera to focus on him instead.
Casnighi disclosed that he was supposed to return to the Met Gala this year, but was fired at the last minute, despite being confirmed to attend a month prior.
Event organizers blamed Casnighi for drawing too much attention to himself. “They blamed me,” the male model said. “They said, ‘You brought this upon yourself, so we don’t want to work with you anymore.'”
