Meghan Markle was already a household name before marrying Prince Harry, thanks to her role as Rachel Zane on the hit legal drama Suits.

However, the Duchess of Sussex decided to choose love and royalty over her acting career and stepped back from the spotlight after getting engaged. Meghan also took a step back from the digital world by shutting down her lifestyle blog, The Tig, and deactivating her social media profiles.

In a candid interview after announcing her engagement, Meghan gave a seven-word response when asked about her decision. She said: “I just see it as a change.”

Addressing her new life as a royal, she told the BBC’s Mishal Husain: “I don’t see it as giving anything up, I just see it as a change. It’s a new challenge.”

Looking back at her time on Suits, Meghan reminisced: “Keep in mind I have been working on my show for seven years.” Her role on Suits spanned across seven seasons and allowed Meghan to forge deep bonds with her co-stars, who were later invited to her wedding in Windsor.

During her engagement interview with the BBC, Meghan fondly recalled reaching a milestone on the show. She explained: “So we’re very, very fortunate to be able to have that sort of longevity on a series and for me, once we hit the 100-episode marker I thought you know what I have ticked this box and I feel really proud of the work I’ve done there and now it’s time to, as you said, work as a team with you [Harry].”

Rumors have been circulating that Meghan might team up with some of her old Suits co-stars on her new podcast with Lemonada Media.

Speaking on behalf of Betfred, celebrity PR expert Kayley Cornelius said: “While Meghan’s contact list may not have completely diminished, she will certainly have a smaller pool to rely on.” She added: “Potential guests could include friends from her ‘Suits’ days, such as Abigail Spencer and Wendell Pierce, who likely remain accessible points of contact for Meghan.”

Harry and Meghan first met in 2016 before tying the knot in 2018. They decided to step down form the Royal Family in 2020. The couple currently live in Montecito, California, with their two young children – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
