The 34-year-old hitmaker – who recently shared the first draft of My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys – has the chance to make history as she could become the first artist to ever three-peat top honor Video Of The Year.
If that wasn’t enough it would be the fifth time she would receive the honor as she already has the record for most wins ever in the category.
This year she is nominated for her collaboration with Post Malone titled Fortnight.
The 29-year-old rapper and singer – born Austin Richard Post – trails Taylor by just one nomination as he has earned nine total with most of them being from their collaboration.
The one nomination he got without the help of taylor was Best Collaboration for his work on I Had Some Help with Morgan Wallen.
Not too far behind the leaders were Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, and Eminem who have six each.
SZA and Megan Thee Stallion are also up for several Moonpersons as they are nominated in five categories.
Tied with four nods each were Olivia Rodrigo, Teddy Swims, and Blackpink member Lisa.
Finally Benson Boone, Anitta, Dua Lipa, Tyla, Bleachers, and GloRilla all have four nominations.
Taylor will face tough competition for the top honor as she will be up against Ariana Grande for We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love), Billie Eilish for Lunch, Doja Cat for Paint The Town Red, Eminem for Houdini, and SZA for Snooze.
The girlfriend of Travis Kelce has won the top prize two years in a row as she won a year ago for Anti-Hero and then again in 2022 for the All Too Well: The Short Film.
Before that she earned it in 2019 for You Need To Calm Down and in 2015 for Bad Blood.
It remains uncertain if Taylor will be appearing at the event but she will not be on her The Eras Tour as she is taking a three month break beginning at the end of the month.
Fan voting for 15 categories – including Video Of The Year – is now open through August 30 on vote.mtv.com.
One category – Best New Artist – is actually up for voting until the night of the event.
