WNBA Legend Cynthia Cooper Gives Strong Opinion on Caitlin Clark

Caitlin Clark received her flowers from WNBA legend Cynthia Cooper
Caitlin Clark has been balling out in her rookie campaign with the Indiana Fever, but along the way, she’s received her fair share of hate from fellow WNBA players.

Whether it’s due to jealousy of Clark’s instant star presence in the league, or the fact that they are sick of hearing about the talented Fever guard, it’s safe to say Clark hasn’t exactly received a warm welcome to the league.

One WNBA legend in Cynthia Cooper bucked the trend recently by coming out and voicing her support of Clark. In a video that quickly amassed quite a few views on social media, Cooper thanked a fan for supporting Clark, noting how great she has been for women’s basketball as a whole.

While some players aren’t fond of Clark, Cooper notes how big of an impact she’s had on the sport, saying that the Fever guard’s rise has been great even for her, despite the fact she’s been retired for over 20 years now.

Cooper knows what it’s like to be an instant star in the WNBA, as she was the league’s first superstar, winning back-to-back MVPs in 1997 and 1998.

And while Clark may not have everyone in her corner, having Cooper’s support is huge, and she will be hoping to reach the same heights the legend hit in her brief WNBA career
