The Pistons aren’t the only team enduring a horrific run in the NBA

DETROIT Pistons anchors left NBA fans stunned with their commentary of the team’s 131-123 loss to the Indiana Pacers.

Bally Sports analysts Mickey York and Tim McCormick worked hard to put a positive spin on the Pistons’ latest defeat, their 20th in a row, on Monday.

In a tease of the postgame show, McCormick said he could see growth from the Pistons compared to last week’s 32-point loss to the Orlando Magic.

The ex-NBA center claimed the young Detroit team looked stressed and anxious on the court against Orlando.

But in the matchup with the Pacers, he continued, they showed improvement — particularly on the offensive end.

McCormick mentioned floor spacing and high field goal percentage as the positives he drew from the loss to Indiana.

He also pointed out that six Pistons players scored in double digits.

“But most importantly, I saw fun. High-five, transition basketball. High-flying action,” the Bally Sports analyst said.

“That’s when these guys can play their basketball.”

York then added: “Yeah, a lot of really interesting and positive individual experiences.”

A clip of the segment went viral on social media, leaving NBA fans stunned.

“High-fives are way more important than wins,” one wrote on X.

“Made friends, got exercise. What more could you ask for????” another wrote.

“I’m so happy to hear they are having fun… cause I’m having a blast watching them be the worst team in the league!!” a third said.

Others sympathized with the sportscasters, emphasizing the difficulty of breaking down the play of a team on a 20-game skid.

“I feel for the broadcasters man. It has to be tough to do their job in this situation and try to get people interested. It’s a real tough sell,” one fone wrote.

“Can’t blame the broadcast as they do not impact the game outcomes — they are stuck here with the rest of us,” another added.

The Pistons haven’t won since the 118-102 victory over the Chicago Bulls on October 28.

They’ve registered the ninth-ever streak of at least 20 consecutive losses in an NBA regular season.

The Philadelphia 76ers hold the record for the longest winless run, set when they suffered 28 defeats in a row between January and March in 2013-14.

The San Antonio Spurs are also enduring a nightmare run, losing their 17th straight game as they fell 93-82 to the Houston Rockets on Monday.

Cade Cunningham led the Pistons in scoring against the Pacers, ending up with 23 points, six rebounds, and seven assists.
