It has emerged that Swift’s No. 87 jersey ring she wore at the AFC Championship Game last weekend was given to her by Donna, the mother of her boyfriend Travis Kelce.
Swift was spotted wearing the ring while embracing Kelce after the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
Prior to the big game, Donna was given some Kelce-themed jewelry by Emily Bordner, the owner and creative director of the Kansas City-based EB and Co.
These included a pair of No. 87 earrings, which Donna was seen wearing on the field.
And Donna passed one of the rings onto Swift.
“We gifted Donna some pairs. We know that she loved our earrings,” Bordner told KMBC.
“And so, we wanted to gift her even more of Kelce-themed products.
“So, we sent those to her and then we were hoping that she would give them to Taylor. And she did.”
Bordner had no idea Swift was wearing one of her items until the store manager texted her.
“I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is not possible. This isn’t true. What’s happening?’” Bordner said.
“And I’m like, ‘Holy moly, what just happened?’ This is insane.”
Since the image of Swift’s ring emerged, Bordner has sold more than 500 items and been inundated with phone calls and orders.
“It immediately went on fire. Everything is insane,” she added.
“The site apparently slowed down because there were so many people on it. We sold out of things immediately.
“It was just absolute chaos, but it was very exciting. So, this is definitely a once in a lifetime thing.”
Such is Swift’s star power that Kristin Juszczyk also gained instant fame after the popstar wore one of her custom designer jackets to a Chiefs’ playoff game.
The wife of San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk gained more than 500,000 followers on Instagram in a week.
And the NFL has reportedly made a licensing agreement with Kristin, allowing her to use their marks in her future designs, as per Sportico.
Swift is planning to jet in from Japan to watch her man go for a third Super Bowl ring on February 11.
