Boxing champion Mike Tyson once allegedly hit Hollywood star Wesley Snipes for supposedly hitting on his girlfriend at the time.

There is no disputing that Mike Tyson is one of the greatest heavyweight boxing champions in the history of the game. In a hugely successful career, Tyson has proved multiple times over many world championship titles, that he is truly invincible inside the boxing ring.

The athelete’s aggression though, wasn’t restricted to just inside the ring. Tyson has been involved in many volatile incidents including famously biting Evander Holyfield’s ear during a fight, among other violent and controversial altercations. An alleged incident involving Hollywood star Wesley Snipes and the boxer, reportedly resulted in Tyson using his fists against the actor.

Mike Tyson’s flashy persona inside and outside the boxing ring has been subjected to many debates about his controversial personality. The sportsman has exhibited unstable and violent behavior quite a few times in his career, especially with people who have dared to come in his way. One wild story that dates back to many years, involved Tyson reportedly delivering a knockout punch to Hollywood star Wesley Snipes.

According to the heavyweight champion’s bodyguard Rudy Gonzalez, Tyson, who was dating his girlfriend Hope at the time, requested Gonzalez to follow her in order to find out who she was going out with that night. As it turned out, she was meeting Hollywood star Wesley Snipes.

When Tyson was given this news by his bodyguard, the athlete, apparently in a fit of rage and jealousy, made his way to the night club to confront Snipes with a new bodyguard. In his book The Inner Ring, Gonzalez recounted what went down (via Sportscasting) when Snipes saw Tyson.
‘Now, Mike, now, Mike, we can do this together. I don’t want no problem”. When I returned from the parking lot, I noticed Anthony was blocking the bathroom door. A couple minutes later we heard a big noise inside, and then Tyson emerged alone. After he was gone, I cracked open the bathroom door. Wesley Snipes was sitting against the far wall, head tilted to one side, unconscious.”
While it was assumed by everyone that Mike Tyson had flattened Wesley Snipes in a bathroom in a Los Angeles nightclub, the boxer and the actor gave very different versions of what went down that night.

The incident of Mike Tyson reportedly teaching Wesley Snipes a painful lesson with his fist spread like wildfire across social media. While their confrontation was documented by Tyson’s bodyguard at the time, he did not actually see the fight going down. Tyson though, when asked about the encounter, denied the claims that he physically punched the Blade star.

The boxer went on to elaborate in his autobiography that he was never involved romantically with Hope, but shared a close friendship with her. It was Snipes who in a relationship with her and subsequently broke it off. Tyson also confirmed that he met Snipes and Hope in the night club to confront the actor about his break-up and how it had affected his friend.

The athlete went on to insist that no physical fight took place that day. In contrast, Snipes completely denied meeting Tyson on the fateful night, which then led to even more speculations about what the truth was.
