However, not everyone was focused solely on James’ performance. Team USA’s head coach, Steve Kerr, highlighted another standout player during his press conference who he believes was the true key to their success.
“Devin Booker is an incredible basketball player. Nobody asked about him. He was our unsung MVP. I just wanted to say that,” Kerr said, as reported by Ben Golliver of the Washington Post.
Booker’s performance in the final game played a crucial role in securing the gold. Alongside his Phoenix Suns teammate Kevin Durant, Booker helped Team USA jump to an early lead over France France. Booker scored 10 of the team’s first 12 points. He finished the game with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting.

LeBron James, who recently shared unique handshakes with his boys, has once again made history. By winning the MVP title at the Paris Olympics, James has now secured MVP honors at every major level of basketball.
James’ impressive resume includes NBA MVP, finals MVP, All-Star Game MVP, in-season tournament MVP, and Olympic MVP. In the final game against France, James contributed 14 points and 10 assists. He also shot an impressive 60% from the field, playing a key role in Team USA’s victory and their fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal.
Whether or not everyone agrees with the Lakers legend winning the MVP title, there’s no denying the significance of his accomplishment. This latest achievement cements his legacy as one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
