Patrick Mahomes Sr. has never been one to make the news since his son has been in the league, but that changed this week.
The dad of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was booked in the Smith County Jail in Tyler, Texas, and is facing a charge of DWI for the third time or more.
Randi Mahomes and Pat married in the late ’90s and got divorced in 2006.
Randi explained on her website that though she and her ex-husband experienced hardships during their marriage, they have a healthy co-parenting relationship.
After his arrest, Randi Mahomes would share a special video on social media:
The 53-year-old former baseball player, who pitched in the major leagues from 1992 to 2003, faces a charge of drinking while intoxicated for at least the third time.
Mahomes Sr. was arrested for a DWI in April 2018, and he pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 40 days in jail, which he served on weekends in 2019 and 2020.
His arrest comes just a week before his son’s team will play the San Francisco 49ers at the 2024 Super Bowl on Feb. 11.
