The banter of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft added a whimsical touch to the narrative when he teased that the pop sensation should have directed her affection towards former Patriots tight end Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski rather than Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce.
“He’s the more dashing of the two,” quipped the 82-year-old Kraft in a video clip making rounds on X as of February 24th. Reflecting on Taylor’s trajectory and his own ties to the music icon, Kraft shared an anecdote about her inaugural stadium concert, a spectacle that coincided with his birthday on June 5th, 2010, during her Fearless Tour.
“We convinced her and her family that she could pack a stadium,” reminisced Kraft. “So, when she graced Gillette Stadium to watch the Chiefs play the Patriots this year, I presented her with a framed ticket from that very concert—June 5, 2010. Just think, she was a mere 18 or 19 then, and look at where she’s soared since.”
Taylor, 34, kindled her romance with Travis, 34, in July 2023, following his attendance at her Eras tour concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Travis divulged on his “New Heights” podcast, co-hosted with brother Jason Kelce, that he had intended to gift her a friendship bracelet bearing his phone number but missed the opportunity.
Nevertheless, Taylor caught wind of his affectionate gesture during the podcast and reached out. The pair kept their relationship discreet for several months before Taylor publicly acknowledged their liaison by accompanying him to her inaugural Chiefs game in September 2023.
Throughout the 2023-2024 season, she steadfastly cheered him on at various games, culminating in the 2024 Super Bowl on February 11th, where the Chiefs triumphed over the San Francisco 49ers.
