Prince William is the future King of England and is already preparing for the role, as the ‘enforcer’ of the Royal Family, which includes putting his foot down around issues concerning his brother, Prince Harry

The role of Prince William within the Royal Family is deeply rooted in history and tradition, often stepping up to support his father, King Charles. It’s been widely reported that both The King and Prince William have intervened to prevent certain public appearances by less favourable members of the family such as at events like the Order of the Garter, with both senior royals bearing the brunt of the decision.

Following reports likening William’s dutiful and steadfast approach to that of his late grandfather, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, a leading Royal expert has explored whether the heir to the throne is filling Prince Philip’s significant shoes.

Prince Philip was renowned for his straightforward manner and firm control over the Firm, leading Royal expert Jennie Bond to question if William is becoming the new ‘enforcer’ of the family, especially given claims that he is adopting Prince Philip’s stern approach in his dealings, particularly with Prince Harry.

“William has always been a strong character,” the former BBC Royal correspondent told OK! “I think his broken childhood made him tough and resolute. He now has the reputation of being stubborn and, once his mind is made up, he sticks to his decision.

“Obviously, as heir to the throne, his word carries a lot of weight in the family and I think it’s true that he has been prepared to take a tough stand on a number of issues, including Andrew and Harry.

“Whether he is the ‘new enforcer’ I am not so sure. But he is definitely someone who commands respect within the family and whose views hold considerable sway.”

Reflecting on recent reports that William has become the ‘enforcer’ of the royal family, Jennie also voiced her opinion on Prince William’s new alleged role within the Royal family: “There is a sense that William has stepped into the Prince Philip role.”

She continued, “Philip ruled the family with a rod of iron and you saw when he died that discipline collapsed. Now William is calling the shots when it comes to family discipline.”

Additionally, Bond shared an inside scoop on King Charles’ ongoing fallout with Prince Harry, mentioning determined attitudes, revealing tactics and ‘who’s calling the shots’. She explained that while Charles would gladly welcome more interaction with his younger son, William remains stern.
