Kevin Porter Jr. was released on $75,000 cash bond Tuesday after it was reported that his girlfriend’s vertebrae was fractured during a brutal Manhattan hotel beating, with the Houston Rockets star accused of repeatedly punching and choking the victim.

More information has since come out and it paints an even grim picture about what went on that fateful day and what has happened in the past.

The alleged assault was sparked when Porter returned to their hotel after a late night only to find he was locked out of the room. He would assault his girlfriend once hotel staff let him inside. She was reportedly asleep when the beating started.

WNBA free agent Kysre Gondrezick was repeatedly hit with a closed fist and choked to the point where she struggled to breathe. She was treated for her injuries, including a cut to the right side of her face and neck pain, at a nearby hospital. Parker choked her with such force he fractured a vertebrae in her neck, prosecutors said.

The beating did not stop until she ran out into the hallway bleeding.

Porter reportedly has a history of abuse with her as there was a previous incident in which he rammed his car into hers.

The Houston Rockets guard was coming off his best season as a pro, averaging nearly 20 points per game last year, but now it appears he may never suit up for the Houston Rockets or another team in the league ever again.

He signed a $63-million four-year deal with Houston last year. Porter, a 2019 first-round draft pick from USC, was traded from Cleveland to Houston after he flew into a rage after finding out his locker had been moved to make room for a newly acquired player.

The victim was the fourth player taken in the 2021 WNBA draft, playing one season with the Indiana Fever.
