Michael Jordan will not attend his son Marcus’s wedding if the latter opts to go through with reported plans to marry Larsa Pippen.
The six-time NBA champion has expressed his disapproval of the relationship between Marcus and Larsa, given that Larsa is the ex-wife of his former Chicago Bulls teammate Scottie Pippen. The hookup has caused a rift between Pip and MJ, with Scottie now lashing out at His Airness at every opportunity.
Of course, we can’t discount ‘The Last Dance’ as a factor.Anyhoo, Marcus has been dating Larsa for close to a year and it’s thought that they are thinking about getting married, though Larsa has denied they’re engaged.
Jordan – who replied with a terse “No” after paparazzi asked whether he approved of the relationship between his son and the ex-wife of his old running mate earlier this year – wants “absolutely nothing to do with the wedding.”
That is according to TMSPN.com. The publication is also reporting that the erstwhile NBA superstar is “not looking to bond with his future daughter-in-law.”
Larsa, for one, does not expect to see MJ at the wedding if she does marry his son.
“Do you think you would have a wedding on a reality show? I don’t think your parents would come,” she told Marcus on a recent episode of their ‘Separation Anxiety’ podcast.
Marcus has also admitted that his dad is distancing himself from their relationship because of his ties to Scottie.
Marcus Jordan & Larsa Pippen’s Wedding Date Is ‘In The Works’ According To The Couple (VIDEO)
Michael Jordan’s son, Marcus, is looking to do the unthinkable.
Marcus and Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife, Larsa, are knee-deep in their relationship and things are moving fairly quickly. The unlikely couple with a 17-year age difference are actually thinking about getting hitched.
“We’re looking for a location,” Marcus said when asked about the possibility of a marriage happening between the couple. He also thanked the reporter when they congratulated him on the future nuptials.
TMZ said Larsa was seen sporting an engagement ring despite neither one of them formally announcing their engagement. The couple was first connected publicly in 2022 following Larsa’s divorce from Scottie Pippen.
The wedding talk came after Jordan told a photographer in July that he did not approve of his son’s relationship with Larsa.
Jordan was out with his wife Yvette Prieto in Paris when he was asked if he approves of Marcus’ romance with Larsa, to which the NBA legend said “no” and laughed. Marcus later addressed the situation and said his father was joking and likely drunk.
He added that Jordan had texted him to warn him about the paparazzi encounter and that it was a joke.
Although they won six NBA championships together during their time with the Bulls in the 1990s, Scottie and Jordan have had their friendship fractures following the release of “The Last Dance” in April 2020. Pippen is seemingly unhappy with his portrayal in the docuseries and has ripped Jordan in several interviews since.
Jordan has not said anything in return.
