Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s marriage has attracted much attention in recent days amid the release of her new memoir, with a video of them having resurfaced recently

Footage of Will Smith telling his estranged wife Jada Pinkett Smith not to “use him” or film him without his permission has resurfaced amid recent remarks by her.

Will, 55, and Jada, 52, have been married since 1997. She shared last week that they’ve been separated since 2016 though, having discussed their marriage while promoting her new memoir Worthy, which was released on Tuesday.

Jada – who shares two children with her husband – has said that they no longer live together. She’s also discussed the aftermath of her “entanglement” with August Alsina, during the marriage, having been made public in 2020.

Amid Jada’s marriage to Will attracting attention this month, a clip – believed to have been from an Instagram Live in 2019 – has resurfaced. It’s been shared and referenced on X – formerly known as Twitter – in recent days, with one post having amassed more than two thousand views. It’s also appeared on TikTok in recent days amid Jada’s memoir being released.

The video – which prompted criticism towards Jada when it circulated last year – promoted an episode of Jada’s Red Table Talk that featured psychotherapist Esther Perel. She appeared on the Facebook Watch show in June 2019.

Seemingly filmed at their home, Jada is heard asking Will in the clip: “You know [Esther] is coming to the table – she’s gonna be at the Red Table. Would you say she has been instrumental in you and I redefining our relationship?”

Instead of answering the question, Will responds: “I would say don’t just start filming me without asking me if you could film me.” His wife reacts by asking Esther to provide them with assistance again as she’s “still dealing with foolishness”.

She’s heard saying: “Oh my goodness, Esther come help us again, please. I’m still dealing with foolishness.” Jada then asks her husband Will: “Would you say that she helped us heal the hurts that we caused between one another?”

Addressing his wife, Will comments in the video: “My social media presence is my bread and butter okay? So you can’t just use me for social media.” He then adds: “Don’t just start rolling; I’m standing in my house. Don’t start rolling.”

Jada concludes by encouraging fans to watch the then-upcoming episode of Red Table Talk. Seemingly with some sarcasm, she states in the clip: “Please watch Esther at the Red Table because she’s helped us a lot, can’t you tell?”
