At 75 years old, American actor Richard Gere dazzled at the amfAR Gala Venezia 2024 at Hangar Nicelli, accompanied by his wife of 41 years, Alejandra Silva.
The couple radiated glamour. Richard chose a classic black tuxedo, white shirt and black bow tie, while Alejandra impressed in a semi-sheer mesh dress embellished with dark blue floral details.
The couple also stepped out on the red carpet at the premiere of the film Wolves , which meant a change of outfits. Silva opted for a flowing white ball gown with an asymmetrical slit, which she paired with strappy metallic sandals. She wore her hair down. In a notable photo from the red carpet, Gere kneels before his wife, bowing in respect as she looks up at him smiling.
At one point, they were joined by Homer, Gere’s son from his previous marriage to model Carey Lowell. Homer, like his father, looked dapper in a tuxedo and bow tie.
Homer, whose name honours his grandparents and carries the Tibetan name “Jigme” as his middle name, was born during Richard’s marriage to Carey Lowell, whom he married in 2002. The couple divorced in 2013 after 11 years together, but Richard and Homer have maintained a strong bond and are often seen together at events.
In 2018, Gere married Spanish actress Alejandra Silva after two years of dating. They have two sons, Alexander and James, aged five and four respectively. The couple plans to move to Spain with their children, as they have previously mentioned. Gere expressed his excitement about living in his wife’s homeland, highlighting the sacrifices Alejandra made in moving to the US for him. Now it’s his turn to live in Spain, and he’s looking forward to the move. Last year, they were spotted house hunting in Madrid.
