A’ja Wilson and the back-to-back defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces were scheduled to open the second half of their 2024 season against Breanna Stewart and the New York Liberty on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET, prompting a big reveal from the Aces’ superstar on social media.

“Oh Bron 21,” Wilson wrote on her Friday Instagram story preceded by a palm tree emoji and followed by a waving hand emoji.

The Aces forward shared that she believes her James inspired sneakers are as good as it gets, as shown in a screenshot of her ensuing story page.

Wilson also shared a post from the Instagram page LeagueFits, which referred to the 2023 WNBA Finals MVP as ‘Hoodie A’ja,” seemingly in reference to retired NBA star Carmelo Anthony’s famous ‘Hoodie Melo’ nickname.

Wilson carried averages of 27.2 points, 12 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.9 steals into Saturday’s showdown with Stewart and the 22-4 Liberty.

New York won the first and only matchup between the two teams so far this season on January 15 by a score of 90-82 in Las Vegas.
