Robert De Niro and Tiffany Chen are celebrating Pride Month in New York City!

On Wednesday, June 26, De Niro, 80, and his longtime girlfriend Chen were seen smiling together at at the Jim Owles Gay Pride Gala and Award Ceremony at the Hard Rock Cafe in midtown Manhattan. The pair attended the political fundraiser and gala event as De Niro was its keynote speaker and honoree; the Rev. Al Sharpton presented the two-time Oscar winner with an award at the event, according to its website.

Other honorees noted on the event’s website included New York governor Kathy Hochul, singer Marilyn Maye, Tony Award-winning actor Brian Stokes Mitchell and journalists and writers Mickey Boardman and Michael Musto. De Niro and Chen could also be seen posing for a photo with the organization’s president Allen Roskoff.

The couple’s appearance comes just over two weeks after the couple appeared at a Chanel dinner at the 2024 Tribeca Festival. De Niro is a co-founder of the annual Manhattan-based film festival, which this year also held a special convention revolving around his career titled De Niro Con, at which he screened some of his classic movies and shared tales from his lengthy career in the film industry.

De Niro and Chen first met in 2015 on the set of his movie The Intern, but they were not publicly romantically linked until August 2021, when they were seen vacationing together in France. The couple share one daughter, 14-month-old Gia Virginia Chen De Niro, whom they welcomed on April 6, 2023.

 

Gia is De Niro’s seventh child. The Goodfellas star also has six older children; he and his first wife Diahnne Abbott share daughter Drena, 56, and son Raphael, 47. In 1995, he welcomed twin sons Julian and Aaron, 28, with his former girlfriend, model and actress Toukie Smith. He also shares son Elliot, 26, and daughter Helen Grace, 12, with his ex-wife Grace Hightower.

“Nothing is perfect in life as we all know, and my older kids, when they’re older, they’re more critical,” the actor recently told the Today show about how his parenting style has changed over the years. “When they’re young like the baby, that’s pure joy, so I’m enjoying that.”

De Niro has a number of upcoming projects in the works, including two movies set to release by the end of the year, according to his IMDb page. He most recently appeared on the big screen opposite Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne in the dramedy Ezra, which released in theaters at the end of May.
