Speaking on the Today Show, Scarlett Johansson was asked about the ongoing rumors regarding Black Widow’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Many came to believe that Avengers: Secret Wars would bring her back after she fell to her death in Avengers: Endgame. Seeing that Black Widow was an underwhelming film, it is only natural for fans to want to see more of her. However, the actress took to addressing these rumors finally.

“I feel like that’s kinda the end, right? Could it be like a vampire version of the character? I’m here for that! Or a zombie version.”
Johansson confirmed that her character got the ending she had been yearning for and to continue that would mean to deter from the legacy she left behind. It would tamper with Natasha’s death, one that would lose all meaning upon her return. If she were to return though, she would like to return as a zombie.

The actress admitted while talking on the Today Show that if her character were to be a vampire or a zombie, then she would be okay with returning as Natasha Romanoff. It would be an interesting take on her character, one that she would not shy away from exploring.
